This is the inaugural meeting of the new Green Defenders Network.
- Katie Boyles, Warren Farm campaigner, will give a short talk on their long battle to gain Local Nature Reserve status for these ex-playing fields - focussing on social media and how they harnessed local support
- Alice Roberts, Head of Campaigns at CPRE London, will give an overview of current / live threats
- There'll be an opportunity for all to ask questions and network with other 'Green Defenders'
The new network will exist to share information and offer mutual support for individuals and groups campaigning to protect parks and green spaces from inappropriate development and/or commercial interests.
Please come along and ask questions and hear from other campaigners. There will be no formal presentations for the first meeting but we are likely to establish quarterly meetings in future with presentations from campaigners around London and beyond.
